9-11-23   THOUGHTS

We consider some verses chosen for focus in our lives.  The first two turn our attention away from  ourselves.  Two unnamed women who show  us selflessness.  Then some passages that press us to  "... seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”  Matt 6:33   I love the  “To serve Him shoulder to shoulder” idea in Zep 3:9.      
John 13:35  "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."  This is a lesson of CONVERTED DISCIPLES making converted disciples!  It’s a lesson of our dying in order to live!  

Luke 7:37-38     And there was a woman in the city who was a sinner; and when she learned that He [Jesus] was reclining at the table in the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster vial of perfume,  38  and standing behind Him at His feet, weeping, she began to wet His feet with her tears, and kept wiping them with the hair of her head, and kissing His feet and anointing them with the perfume.   [This is a voluntary, public dying of a woman void of embarrassment]
Mark 12:43  Calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury;
John 12:24  "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.
Prov 21:3    To do righteousness and justice Is desired by the LORD more than sacrifice.
Mic 6:8    He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?
Deut 10:12    "Now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require from you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
Jer 32:39-40    and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me always, for their own good and for the good of their children after them.  40  "I will make an everlasting covenant with them that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; and I will put the fear of Me in their hearts so that they will not turn away from Me.
Zep 3:9   "For then I will give to the peoples purified lips, That all of them may call on the name of the LORD, To serve Him shoulder to shoulder.
Zec 8:23  "Thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘In those days ten men from all the nations will grasp the garment of a Jew, saying, "Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you."

My Prayer:
Make our hearts singular and total in our love for You, O God.  Help us to see the place of love in Your design of things, and cause us to promote Your great love through our living.  May we love You with our all, and love those You have created in the truest and purest  of ways.  Remove us from living in our own worlds and renew  us as we war for the Souls of men.  Awaken us, O God of heaven.  We desire eternity with You.  Give us zeal and diligence as we pursue what matters.    In the name of our Savior,     Amen.
